BEADED BOTTLE SEALING WAX INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE IMPORTANT SAFETY WARNING:

Please ensure you wear safety glasses at all times when handling hot wax. Hot wax can cause serious burns if any of it splashes onto your face. Your safety is paramount. DO NOT USE DIRECTLY ON SKIN.

MELTING PROCEDURE

• Our waxes are suitable for both ‘hand’ or ‘machine’ dipping. Put a small amount of Beaded Bottle Sealing Wax into a melting pot. For smaller quantities, a “crock pot” is an ideal choice, anything that will maintain a consistent dipping temperature. Refer to manufacturer's guideline on how to use the machine, we recommend a working temperature of 85°C to get the best results from our product.

• Heat the wax gently until it begins to melt. Once there’s a layer of liquid wax covering the bottom of the pot, add more wax in stages until you have enough for dipping bottles.

• Before dipping, use a thermometer to check the temperature. An ideal range is between 80°C to 88°C, depending on the thickness required.

• For metallic colors, occasionally stir the wax to prevent any separation of metallic pigments.

DIPPING PROCEDURE

• Ensure that bottles to be dipped are corked or capped tightly. Also, make sure there is no liquid residue around the neck of the bottle.

• Lower the bottle vertically into the wax as far as necessary. The wax should reach far enough down the neck of the bottle to provide an adequate seal.

• Be mindful not to leave the bottle in the wax for too long. Remove the bottle at a slight angle to allow excess wax to drip back into the pot. Continuously rotate the bottle while lifting it out of the wax. Repeat this process until the wax stops dripping.

• You can let the waxed bottle cool as it is, which will result in a satin finish. If you prefer a glossier finish, immediately dip the waxed bottle into cold water. Remember to change the water as it warms up for best results. Alternativly, you can let it cool infront of a fan.

TROUBLESHOOTING

1. Difficulty Peeling Wax Off Bottle: - Possible Cause: Wax coating temperature is too hot. - Solution: Ensure that the wax temperature is lowered to the appropriate range for easier peeling.

2. Faded Color: - Possible Cause: Wax has been overheated. - Solution: Monitor the wax temperature carefully to prevent overheating, this fade out the color.

3. Bubble Occurs at Cap or Cork Seal: - Possible Cause: Air trapped in the cork or cap ridge expands due to the heat of the wax. - Solution: To minimise this issue, hold the bottle in the wax until bubbling ceases. Some corks may be very porous, requiring a second coat for a satisfactory result. Apply the first coat when cool, and quickly dip for the second coat.
